GRC Operations Team Lead with German | Managed Services Operations

MSO Internal Control Testing team is a rapidly developing group of experts in internal control, processes, and IT systems. They carry out projects related to verifying the effectiveness of internal control from the perspective of business and IT processes, identifying, analyzing, and managing business and IT risks for clients from various sectors worldwide.

• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong ownership and delivery focus.
• Collaborative mindset and readiness to contribute to team development, capability building, and practice growth.
• Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to communicate complex Risk & Controls insights clearly and confidently.
• At least 5-7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, internal control testing, or internal audit.
• Fluency in German and English (minimum C1 level), allowing confident verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks, SOX requirements, and internal audit leading practices.
• University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, IT, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in using new technologies and AI-based tools in daily work (e.g., task automation, information analysis, content creation).

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
• Other relevant risk, audit, or compliance-related qualifications.

• Lead selected internal controls initiatives and workstreams, building strong relationships across PwC’s international network and contributing to cross-territory collaboration.
• Deliver end-to-end internal controls activities within a Managed Services model, including design effectiveness assessments, walkthroughs, and operating effectiveness testing for business and IT controls.
• Take team leader responsibility for day-to-day delivery, supporting team building, task allocation, quality reviews, and knowledge sharing within multi-location teams.
• Act as a key point of contact for client stakeholders, facilitating discussions in German and English, presenting results, and supporting conversations on risks and controls.
• Support remediation and deficiency management, helping clients design sustainable improvements and embed risk-by-design practices.
• Contribute to shaping and evolving the PwC offering by identifying emerging risks, technology-driven control needs, and opportunities to improve governance and control environments.
• Support sales and business development activities on selected engagements, including proposal preparation, scoping input, and identifying future opportunities such as automation, AI-enabled testing, and continuous monitoring.
• Coach and support junior team members, contributing to capability building and preparing for a clear progression path to manager.
