Senior Data Engineer - Rating & Limit Management

Group Technology at Nordea is focused on engineering solutions and directing the bank's transformation by providing a holistic technological view and structured understanding of the bank and its environment to enable the Customer Vision and Business Strategy. The Limit Management technology team builds and maintains digital solutions that support corporate credit decisions across the bank, helping credit professionals assess financial data, manage credit limits, and evaluate risk. They deliver and maintain core credit solutions to ensure real-time limit checks, regulatory-compliant limit exposure monitoring, orchestrate integrations from exposure data sources to credit decision systems, and support limit data services for risk monitoring and reporting.

• Proactive understanding of the business domain and ability to clarify requirements without waiting for detailed specifications
• Ownership of the full lifecycle from design to implementation and testing
• Strong understanding of data modeling and modern data warehousing best practices
• Strategic focus on high quality, consolidation, standardization, and long-term maintainability
• Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, quality, and speed
• Strong experience in data engineering and data warehousing, building large-scale data solutions
• Ability to design simple and maintainable data warehouse solutions
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow
• Experience with CI/CD, pipeline orchestration, and modern data engineering practices
• Eagerness to understand the business domain to create robust and maintainable data solutions

• Support the foundational phase of the new data engineering team by turning business problems into data solutions
• Take ownership of designing and building data models and data pipelines
• Drive modernization from requirements to production, transitioning from fragmented local systems to a unified solution
• Build trusted partnerships with Business and stakeholders through effective communication and alignment throughout the development process
• Drive quality and technical leadership by setting high delivery standards, emphasizing long-term reliability and maintainability, and championing modern engineering practices (TDD, design patterns, clean architecture)
• Pioneer AI adoption by implementing AI-assisted development practices (e.g., GitHub Copilot, internal agents) to improve engineering productivity
