Junior OT/IT Data Engineer

ConnectPoint specializes in delivering IoT, IT/OT solutions and proprietary IT products for industry. They provide technologies supporting production process monitoring, energy optimization, system integration, software development, data processing and reporting, GIS, BI, and competencies in machine learning and big data. Their clients include large international corporations and local energy, water, and heat providers.

• Knowledge of industrial automation systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS) and their differences and applications in industrial environments
• Practical experience in data engineering, preferably at the OT and IT environment interface
• Proficient in Python for data processing and scripting automation
• Ability to write queries and process data using SQL
• Familiarity with OT/IT issues and industrial communication protocols, especially OPC (OPC UA/DA) and Modbus
• Initial experience working with SCADA-class systems and understanding their specifics
• English language proficiency enabling daily communication with foreign clients
• Meticulousness, responsibility, communication skills, and a sense of humor are valued

Nice to have:

• Experience with AVEVA PI System (formerly OSIsoft PI), AVEVA System Platform (Wonderware Historian), or related technologies
• Ability to start cooperation in May
• Knowledge of PowerShell

• Lead the data migration process from existing local SCADA systems to a new central IT system
• Extract operational data and metadata, process and convert them into a unified target format
• Analyze and map data from existing systems to create a consistent model in the central database
• Create scripts and tools to automate data extraction, transformation, and loading processes from control systems
• Ensure reliable communication between devices and control systems with the analytical platform using standard industrial protocols
• Daily communication with clients in English
