Engineering Team Leader, DX Platform

Fundraise Up is a global fundraising platform designed to make donating to nonprofits fast, seamless, and accessible. The platform powers tens of millions of dollars in donations monthly and serves nonprofit organizations across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Europe. It includes a modern checkout experience, customizable widgets, donor and partner portals, admin tools, and internal apps. The backend uses Node.js (Koa, NestJS) and MongoDB, with frontend technologies including Webpack, Vue.js, React, and TypeScript. Messaging and background processing use Kafka and Bull (Redis), analytics data is stored in ClickHouse, and Elasticsearch is used for search. The company has a distributed team of over 160 product professionals, including 80+ engineers, mainly based in Spain, Poland, Portugal, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, Turkey, and Cyprus.

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• At least 2 years as a Team Lead or Engineering Manager managing a team of 5–10 developers.
• Hands-on leader capable of writing code, making technical decisions, and designing systems.
• Strong people management skills including hiring, coaching, feedback, and conflict resolution.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Fullstack Developer.
• At least 5 years of experience working with TypeScript, Node.js, MongoDB, Kafka, and Redis in product companies.
• Experience in fast-growing companies or startups is a plus.
• English language proficiency at B2+ level.

• Lead a team of 5-8 Fullstack developers.
• Write and review code (approximately 70% management, 30% coding).
• Ensure the team follows company processes and engineering guidelines.
• Own the delivery of features and adherence to deadlines.
• Make technical decisions and prepare technical designs for new features.
• Align technical designs with neighboring teams and management.
• Manage technical debt and maintain the technical backlog.
• Mentor and develop engineers; conduct regular 1:1 meetings.
• Onboard new team members.
• Conduct performance reviews.
