Senior Java Developer

Upvanta is working on an advanced product impacting flight safety, offering an international environment and collaboration with experts. The role includes hybrid work in Kraków and opportunities for development towards architecture and distributed systems.

• Very good knowledge of Java (minimum version 17)
• Experience with Spring Framework and Hibernate
• Knowledge of SQL / Oracle
• Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit or similar)
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, OpenShift)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
• Practical experience with event-driven systems (Kafka preferred)
• Very good English language skills (B2+)
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Good work organization and time management
• High interpersonal competences

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of ElasticSearch / Solr
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Experience with distributed systems
• Experience migrating monolith to microservices
• Experience with Agile methodologies

• Designing, developing, testing, and debugging new functionalities in a complex system
• Developing and maintaining existing components
• Supporting architects in building long-term technological vision
• Creating technical documentation and prototypes
• Analyzing problems in development and production environments
• Translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Ensuring code quality and programming standards
• Participating in Agile ceremonies (planning, demo)
