Software Engineering Manager II - YouTube Ads Infrastructure

Google Ads powers the open internet with technology connecting people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. The teams build advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel, video advertising, and analytics. They create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads, helping grow businesses of all sizes and enabling Google to engage with customers at scale.

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Nice to have:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

• Develop and communicate the technical roadmap for scaling the Design System while driving innovation through AI integration to meet future organizational and infrastructure needs.
• Lead a team of Software Engineers responsible for core infrastructure, providing regular coaching, performance management, and career development tailored to individual growth.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with the YouTube Ads business vertical and cross-functional teams (UX, Product Managers, and Technical Program Managers) to ensure technical alignment with product and business goals.
• Architect and vet systems within the core infrastructure scope, ensuring the technical foundation.
• Ensure technical quality by reviewing code and system designs for accuracy and efficiency, while personally solving highly ambiguous problems through product or system development.
