Software Engineer III - YouTube Ads Infrastructure

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The products handle information at massive scale and extend beyond web search. Engineers work on specific projects critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows and evolves. Engineers are expected to be versatile, display leadership qualities, and take on new problems across the full stack.

As a Software Engineer in this team, you will contribute to the growth of the YouTube Ads business by generating large business for Google, supporting creator monetization, showing relevant ads to YouTube users, and expanding the advertiser base by delivering value to millions of advertisers.

Google Ads powers the open internet with technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. The teams build Google’s Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel, and video advertising, as well as analytics. They create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads, helping grow businesses of all sizes and enabling Google to engage with customers at scale.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Go, or Java), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 1 year of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

Nice to have:

• Experience building or maintaining high-throughput services or low-latency systems.
• Experience programming in C++.

• Contribute towards the development of maintainable YouTube Ads infrastructure systems to support business growth.
• Write maintainable and tested code.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, and testability).
• Partner with other software engineers within the team to contribute towards goals and scaling the system to support growth.
