Senior Software Engineer, Pixel Graphics

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. The Pixel team designs and delivers advanced mobile experiences by integrating AI, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and transformative user experiences.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of software development experience.
• 3 years experience in testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year experience with software design and architecture.
• 2 years experience in C or C++ and embedded systems (e.g., firmware, Linux kernel, device drivers).
• Experience in graphics or graphics processing units.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Experience contributing to graphics drivers.
• Experience developing and debugging native code on Android.
• Experience writing graphics API code and analyzing GPU-accelerated applications (games, image processing, GPGPU).
• Knowledge of OpenGL ES, Vulkan, or OpenCL APIs.

• Develop GPU graphics and compute technologies spanning the GPU software stack.
• Seek general solutions to problems, minimizing application or device-specific workarounds for all Pixel devices.
• Evaluate and bring-up devices; collaborate with product and engineering teams to define GPU roles and requirements in future products.
• Debug user mode and kernel mode problems.
