Senior Full Stack Engineer: Offsite Discovery (Remote)

Constructor is the next-generation platform for search and discovery in e-commerce, built to explicitly optimize for metrics like revenue, conversion rate, and profit. The search engine is invented in-house utilizing transformers and generative LLMs, powering search, recommendations, and shopping agents. It handles over 1 billion queries daily across 150 languages and about 100 countries, serving major e-commerce companies such as Sephora, Under Armour, and Petco. The company was founded in 2019 by Eli Finkelshteyn and Dan McCormick and is U.S. based.

• Strong foundation with client-side JavaScript, computer science background, and familiarity with networking principles.
• Solid experience with TypeScript and frontend frameworks like React.
• Experience building, maintaining, and debugging full-stack web applications.
• Experience with Python and backend frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, or Django, or willingness to learn.
• Good understanding of API design principles.
• Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
• Experience with relational databases, distributed systems, and caching solutions (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Analytical skills and experience with SQL for dashboard reports and solutions (ClickHouse, Athena).
• Experience with major public cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Must be located within or near the WET timezone (e.g., Germany, Portugal) and available to work core business hours approximately 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM WET.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with serverless design patterns, particularly AWS Lambda.
• Experience working in remote environments.

• Implement new features for the customer dashboard using TypeScript and React, interacting with backend services built with Python and FastAPI.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop new features and tools for Offsite Discovery.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical business partners to develop and update application functionalities.
• Communicate project progress and developments to stakeholders inside and outside the team.

Must be located within or near the WET timezone (e.g., Germany, Portugal) and available to work core business hours approximately 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM WET to ensure continuous coverage and rapid response to customer and CSM queries across timezones.
