Cinematic Animator

At Anshar Studios, we specialize in RPG and action shooter experiences, and we’re building our next title in Unreal Engine 5.

• Extensive, professional experience in character animation for games, animation, or post-production.
• Strong eye for visual storytelling, previs, editorial, camera work, and cinematography.
• Experience in First-Person Perspective (FPP) animation for real-time narrative sequences.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine animation tools (Control Rig, MetaHuman, Sequencer, etc.).
• Experience with motion capture workflows: direction, performance, cleanup, and retargeting.
• Experience with acting, and emotional performance animation.
• Basic skinning and rigging skills.

Nice to have:

• 5+ years of experience in character animation.
• Extensive experience in at least one of the following areas: animation direction, motion capture performance, or multi-character sequence design.
• Proven experience in a similar role on shipped AA or AAA titles.
• Strong technical and creative expertise in animation and related disciplines.
• Proven experience in adjacent disciplines such as creative direction, narrative design, or art direction.

• Design, prototype, and deliver narrative sequences from previs through to final in-engine implementation.
• Create storyboards, animatics, blockouts, and camera animation to define and support storytelling.
• Assemble sequences in Sequencer, integrating animation, audio, VFX, and gameplay systems.
• Collaborate closely with the creative team to develop narrative ideas and brief other animators as needed.
• Oversee, support, and/or block out character animation using motion capture during early development stages.
• Iterate on sequences based on creative briefs and feedback, or work independently when required.
