Staff Software Engineer, BigLake Federation

Google Cloud develops next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. The role involves working on BigQuery's metadata management and improving Federation support for BigLake, collaborating with partners like Dataplex, Dataproc, SAP, and Salesforce.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software engineering and technical leadership.
• Experience in storage, distributed computing, and data analytics.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with open source systems such as Apache Iceberg, Spark.
• Experience working with partners such as SAP, Salesforce.

• Be responsible for all data and metadata federation aspects and expand BigLake to other clouds, partners like SAP and Salesforce.
• Work with storage, networking, and analytic engine leads to create a technical roadmap for cross cloud analytics.
• Lead execution, including delivering some aspects personally.
• Work with Product Managers to create a comprehensive product that aligns to this roadmap.
