Software Engineer III, YouTube Ads Infrastructure

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The role involves working on projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects. The position contributes to the growth of the YouTube Ads business by supporting creator monetization, relevant ads delivery, and advertiser base expansion. Google Ads powers the open internet with advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel, and video advertising, as well as analytics, creating trusted experiences between people and businesses.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Go or Java), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 1 year of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience building or maintaining high-throughput services, or low-latency systems.
• Experience programming in C++.

• Contribute towards the development of maintainable YouTube Ads infrastructure systems to support business growth.
• Write maintainable and tested code.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, and testability).
• Partner with other software engineers within the team to contribute towards goals and scaling the system to support growth.
