Junior Backed Developer (Graduate Program)

Columbus is a global consultancy helping organizations create business value through digital transformation. In Poland, the Digital Commerce team designs and builds modern e-commerce platforms for Scandinavian customers, focusing on technology capabilities and engineering excellence.

• Solid understanding of backend development fundamentals
• Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and good engineering practices
• General knowledge of backend technologies with hands-on experience or learning exposure to .NET, Java, or Node.js
• Openness to working with various backend technologies and readiness to quickly learn new languages, frameworks, and tools
• Understanding of API design and server-client communication (REST)
• Basic knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Git
• Basic awareness of cloud concepts such as deployments, environments, configuration, and scalability
• Ability to use AI tools to support backend development (e.g., code generation, refactoring, debugging, log analysis)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Very good English communication skills (at least B2 level) and Polish
• Curiosity, passion for technology, and strong motivation for continuous learning

• Build backend applications for modern web and e-commerce platforms (.NET, Java, Typescript or Node.js)
• Design and develop REST APIs and handle server-client communication
• Work with databases (SQL and NoSQL) and understand data modelling basics
• Build secure, scalable, and performant backend solutions
• Develop AI-enabled features and use AI tools to improve development workflow
• Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, product managers, and AI specialists
• Gain practical knowledge of cloud platforms, deployments, and environments
