Software Engineer III - BigQuery Federation and SQL Features

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Nice to have:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with software engineering in Java and C++.
• Experience in data processing, distributed systems, or database internals.
• Experience with BigQuery or other data warehousing technologies.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Take ownership of a high-impact BigQuery feature, shaping its direction and making key decisions.
• Contribute to expanding BigQuery's capabilities and attract new customers.
• Collaborate closely with other BigQuery teams, including data and control planes and other database teams (Cloud Spanner, Cloud SQL, AlloyDB).
• Solve complex problems involving distributed systems, query optimization, compute pushdowns, security, and data integration.
