Senior Software Engineer - Health Platform

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The Health Platforms and Devices team builds innovative products and services that help users live longer, healthier lives by combining Google technologies, AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design. The team offers a suite of apps, services, and health wearables to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable. As a Software Engineer in the Data Foundations team, you will build and maintain the platform empowering Google Health engineers to build features, designing, developing, and deploying back-end services and automation tools using Java, Go, and Kotlin, contributing to engineering efficiency and code quality.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, or C++), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• Experience working with distributed databases and distributed computing.

Nice to have:

• Master's degree or PhD in computer science or related technical fields.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Ability to work with various technologies and different programming languages.

• Build and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure the quality of software.
• Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Identify and address technical debt within the team's codebase and systems.
• Contribute to the team's technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.
