Senior Software Engineer, Performance Infrastructure

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The Platforms and Devices team works on computing software platforms across desktop, mobile, applications, and first-party devices combining Google AI, software, and hardware to create innovative user experiences worldwide.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience with full stack development, including back-end (Java, Python, Golang, or C++) and front-end (JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• Experience building infrastructures, frameworks, and tools.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (style guidelines, code accuracy, testability, efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
