Senior Software Engineer

HireRight Technology is an IT team supporting HireRight, a global background screening provider. The company is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, and is building a Katowice-based Tech Hub. The software serves hundreds of thousands of users daily and processes over 100 business events per second. The role involves cooperation with international IT colleagues in Tallinn and other locations.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
• Proven experience with Java (at least 5 years)
• Proven experience with ReactJS and TypeScript (at least 3 years), and other front-end frameworks & technologies
• Good knowledge of Object-Oriented Principles and Design Patterns
• Experience with building RESTful and SOAP services; Apache Camel, XSLT; SpringBoot, Tomcat
• Good knowledge of SQL (Oracle), exposure to Hibernate/JPA
• Experience using standard software development tools (IntelliJ, JUnit, JMeter, Maven, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Git, Jira)
• Ability to design and optimize systems for scalability and performance
• Understanding of multi-threading and concurrency

Nice to have:

• Ability to lead the delivery of technical projects; tech lead experience is a plus
• Containerization (Docker; Kubernetes)
• Network protocols understanding; Unix user level skills
• Exposure to streaming queues like RabbitMQ
• Experience with non-SQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
• Practice in a multi-tier, async, distributed architecture environment

• Analyze, design, and code new complex software solutions or enhancements to existing products
• Partner with product management, architects, and quality assurance during all phases of SDLC to ensure software meets functional and non-functional requirements
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies
• Ensure quality by writing tests and participating in design and code reviews
• Develop test programs and functional prototypes when required
• Assist management with technical evaluation of issues, including alternatives, risk assessments, and recommendations
• Lead, provide technical assistance, and delegate tasks to less experienced team members
• Work in an Agile environment cooperating with Product Managers, Business Analysts, and QAs to support applications and implement new functionality
