Software Engineer - Fullstack (Fulfilment)

Tesco Technology is developing software applications and services to support store distribution and fulfilment networks, focusing on automation and improving colleague experience in depots. The team modernizes technologies including Java microservices, React applications, Kafka messaging, and Kubernetes deployments.

• At least 4 years of experience developing with Java 11+
• Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Experience in test driven development
• Experience designing and developing microservices and REST APIs
• Good English communication skills

Nice to have:

• Experience with Azure or other cloud solutions
• Exposure to React

• Develop Java microservices exposed via React applications and REST APIs
• Use Kafka as a messaging backbone for business analytics via Tesco Analytics Platform
• Deploy applications to AKS, on-premise virtual machines, and internal Kubernetes platform
• Use Terraform for infrastructure as code
• Support increased automation within depots
• Develop modern applications to support colleagues and improve business outcomes
• Build understanding and ownership of Autonomous Mobile Robot solutions in fresh food depots
• Influence technical direction and improve efficiency and user experience
• Follow DevOps philosophy: take responsibility for software lifecycle, continuous integration, delivery, and support
• Review and contribute code
• Propose solutions proactively
• Work collaboratively in teams
• Design, propose, and review architecture
• Focus on performance, availability, reliability, and security
• Develop cross-platform, lightweight, mobile-first progressive web applications
• Contribute to feature definition for owned services
• Communicate progress effectively to team and wider colleagues

This role requires the candidate to be based in or near Kraków, Poland, as 60% of the workweek (3 days) is spent collaborating onsite at office locations or local sites, with the remainder remote.
