T Hub - DevOps Engineer - IaaS

Technology Delivery International (TDI) is a key part of Deutsche Telekom, driving innovation across Europe. We deliver the full product lifecycle of telecommunications IT and network technology solutions - from engineering and architecture to development, testing, infrastructure provisioning and operations. Our international teams work closely with Deutsche Telekom’s national companies to bring these solutions to life, ensuring seamless delivery and continuous improvement.

• University degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Information Systems, or comparable qualification.
• Fluent in English.
• 2+ years proven experience in cloud technologies.
• Proven hands-on experience managing Linux systems.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, DNS).
• Expertise in building CI/CD pipelines to implement GitOps workflows.
• Proficiency in shell and bash scripting.
• Solid coding skills in Python or similar languages.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible.
• Good understanding of IT operations.
• A mindset of continuous learning, willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
• Ability to think outside of the box and find solutions to complex problems.
• Being a strong individual contributor and an empathic team player.
• Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders in the company.

Nice to have:

• Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Advanced OpenStack knowledge (KVM, libvirt, automation).
• VXLAN, SDN, load balancing, Ceph.
• Cloud‑native security and compliance.
• Kolla-ansible.
• Containers (LXC, Docker).
• Monitoring tools (Nagios, Checkmk).

• Contribute to the modern evolution of our IaaS-based service portfolio.
• Develop and maintain modular cloud infrastructure based on OpenStack.
• Create and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Implement monitoring solutions like Prometheus or Grafana.
• Integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle, considering internal and external standards.
• Analyze logs and metrics to identify root causes of system issues, resolve bugs, respond to incidents and define preventive measures.
• Oversee change management processes and system lifecycle activities.
• Participate in on-call rotation (for stand-by operations).
