Senior Golang Software Engineer

Join Zendesk, a company focused on powering exceptional customer service globally through AI, automation, and intelligent customer experiences. The role is within the Workforce Management product team, which provides AI-powered solutions for forecasting, scheduling, and agent performance tracking.

• 5+ years professional software engineering experience with 3+ years building backend services (microservices/distributed systems).
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) and Go testing practices; experience with Docker.
• Solid experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and efficient data access pattern design.
• Practical cloud experience, preferably AWS, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code.
• Knowledge of distributed systems concepts including consistency, timeouts/retries, and backpressure.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and message systems like Kafka, and designing REST APIs and integrations.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset with focus on mentorship.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with PHP/Laravel or working alongside PHP-based services.
• Familiarity with analytical databases such as ClickHouse.
• Experience with observability and error-tracking tools like Datadog and Sentry.
• Exposure to CI/CD tooling and orchestration such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Kubernetes.

• Design, implement, test, and maintain backend services in Go for Workforce Management features.
• Own components through the full software development lifecycle including discovery, planning, delivery, and production support.
• Collaborate with product managers, SREs, QA, and engineers to translate requirements into reliable solutions.
• Write clear, well-tested code and perform code reviews.
• Identify and reduce technical debt by breaking down complex problems and proposing improvements.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, improve observability, and contribute to incident response and postmortems.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers and contribute to a positive team culture.

• This role requires hybrid work mode with mandatory attendance at the local Kraków office part of the week; specific schedule determined by hiring manager.
