Test Automation Engineer 1

Join xLab, an internal unit at Allegro with the independence of a startup and the impact of a market leader. The mission is to build a world-class Design System, focusing on cross-platform integrity of native web and mobile components across iOS, Android, and Web.

• Basic practical experience with modern frontend or mobile automation frameworks like Playwright, Cypress, or Appium (from academic projects, bootcamps, or personal portfolio).
• Understanding of manual testing as a way to understand components before automation.
• Comfortable with web and mobile interfaces, including DOM, CSS selectors, and mobile view hierarchies.
• Eagerness to leverage AI tools in daily QA workflow.
• "Pixel-perfect" mindset with keen eye for detail including visual misalignments, typography, and color tokens.
• Familiarity with GIT version control system and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
• Clear and logical communication skills for reporting UI issues.
• Positive attitude towards teamwork and ability to work independently.

• Blend manual exploratory testing with automation to ensure a high-quality experience for the cross-platform Design System across iOS, Android, and Web.
• Perform exploratory and validation testing to deeply understand new UI components and their various states before writing automation code.
• Create and maintain automated UI tests focusing on frontend and component-level interactions without backend dependencies.
• Participate in Visual Regression Testing to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and consistency across platforms, browsers, and screen sizes.
• Utilize AI-powered tools (e.g., LLMs, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate test script creation, brainstorm test cases, and optimize daily workflow.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers and UX/UI designers to implement component specifications and accessibility (a11y) requirements.
• Analyze test results and track UI defects, clearly reporting visual or functional issues in the issue-tracking system.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes and methodologies.
