Pytest Framework Architect

As a Pytest Framework Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the automation framework architecture for NPU (Neural Processing Unit) validation. This position offers significant ownership and autonomy, enabling you to drive the framework’s technical roadmap, mentor a talented engineering team, and ensure robust, scalable automation solutions. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency, reliability, and quality of product validation, supporting HCLTech’s mission of delivering best-in-class technology solutions to its global clientele.

• 7–12 years of professional experience in software engineering or automation framework architecture, with a focus on Python and Pytest.
• Deep expertise in Python programming, Pytest internals, plugins, and advanced automation design patterns.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale automation infrastructures.
• Strong track record of project ownership and cross-team collaboration in agile/SCRUM environments.
• Proficiency in integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and automated test reporting systems.
• Excellent written communication skills in English; fluency in Polish for effective team collaboration and documentation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have:

• Experience with NPU, AI, or hardware validation environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud-native automation solutions and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
• Contributions to open-source Python or Pytest projects are highly valued.
• Relevant certifications in Python, automation, or DevOps practices.

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and evolution of Python-based automation frameworks, ensuring seamless integration with Pytest and advanced extension capabilities.
• Define and enforce coding standards, testing strategies, and framework integration patterns that align with DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automated reporting.
• Mentor and coach framework and test developers, fostering a collaborative environment that emphasizes technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews, troubleshoot and debug systemic issues, and drive architectural improvements to enhance framework scalability and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders in a SCRUM/agile environment to align framework development with broader project and business objectives.
• Document architectural decisions, framework usage guidelines, and technical processes in both Polish and English to support a diverse team.
