(F / M) Senior Machine Learning Engineer - Full remote

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for a client in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Machine Learning Engineer with production ML systems
• Strong programming skills in Python and solid knowledge of the data science ecosystem
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable ML systems in a cloud environment, preferably AWS
• Hands-on experience with AWS SageMaker for training and deploying machine learning models
• Experience with at least one deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Practical experience with MLOps, especially MLflow and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
• Ability to design, document, and clearly communicate the architecture of complex ML systems and data pipelines
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions
• Experience mentoring data scientists or engineers

Nice to have:

• A Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field
• Experience building and developing recommender systems
• Familiarity with model monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Evidently AI
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions to diverse audiences

• Leading the evolution of the architecture of a live global recommender system
• Designing and implementing MLOps practices including CI/CD automation, monitoring, and ML experiment reproducibility
• Collaborating with data scientists to move machine learning models from research to production on AWS SageMaker
• Being an active hands-on contributor to the Python codebase for data, ML infrastructure, and model deployment
• Acting as a technical leader and mentor for data science and engineering teams
• Working closely with product managers and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Identifying and advocating for new technologies and continuous improvements in ML and MLOps
