Solution Architect

Jacobs is developing a Digital & Data Hub in Krakow focused on engineering-driven projects in critical infrastructure sectors such as transportation, rail systems, road construction and maintenance, water management, and environmental monitoring. The role involves collaboration with U.S.-based project management and technical leadership teams and Polish engineering teams to design and implement cloud architectures, integration layers, and Digital Twin capabilities for large-scale data center environments.

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering and system design, including hands-on work with Azure based cloud systems
• Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle
• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technical information into business language
• Awareness of market trends and developments within the domain focus, with a keen eye on potential impacts

Nice to have:

• Implement architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, MODAF, or SAFe where applicable
• Incorporate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to streamline delivery and environment consistency

• Design high-level system architectures and solution blueprints for Digital Twin platforms built on Azure and the .NET ecosystem
• Architect scalable, secure, and cost optimized cloud solutions using Azure services such as Azure Digital Twins, Event Hub, IoT Hub, Service Bus, Functions, App Services, AKS, and Azure Storage
• Define network topologies and implement security best practices across cloud, data, and integration layers
• Develop integration strategies and design RESTful/GraphQL APIs using .NET and C#, ensuring interoperability, performance, and real-time data flow
• Design microservices based solutions and implement container orchestration for Digital Twin and data processing components
• Define data storage strategies using both relational (SQL) and nonrelational (NoSQL) databases, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and data modeling for Digital Twin and telemetry workloads
• Define strategies for big data, telemetry ingestion, data warehousing, and data lakes to support analytics, simulation, and AI/ML initiatives
• Explore and integrate AI/ML capabilities into Digital Twin and predictive maintenance scenarios
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language for executives and nontechnical stakeholders
