Senior Software Engineer, Health Platform

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The Health Platforms and Devices team builds products and services to help users live longer, healthier lives by combining Google technologies, AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design. The team creates apps, services, and health wearables to make consumer health more personal, proactive, and actionable.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, or C++), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• Experience working with distributed databases and distributed computing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in computer science or related technical fields.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Ability to work with various technologies and different programming languages.

• Build and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure software quality.
• Participate in code reviews and troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Identify and address technical debt within the team's codebase and systems.
• Contribute to the team's technical documentation and knowledge sharing efforts.
