Software Engineer III, BigLake Federation

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The role involves improving Federation support for BigLake, including support for partners like Salesforce and open source standards such as the Iceberg Rest Catalog. Google Cloud provides enterprise-grade solutions to customers in over 200 countries and territories.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience with open source systems like Apache Iceberg, Spark.
• Experience working with partners like SAP, Salesforce, and other cloud computing platforms.

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing sources of issues and their impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
