Data Engineering Application Engineer

Hitachi Energy develops Network Control Systems for critical infrastructure operators such as power grid operators and multi-utility providers for gas, water, and district heating. Their software platform enables efficient monitoring and control of networks, ensuring high availability and operational excellence.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical power engineering, or comparable technical understanding of SCADA solutions, database engineering, and Network Control products
• Fluent spoken and written English
• German or French fluency is a plus but not required
• Independent and proactive working style with willingness to take responsibility
• Communication skills combined with high customer orientation
• Interest in international and cross-cultural cooperation and willingness to travel worldwide
• Willingness for temporary assignments in global partner units (up to half a year) desired
• Necessary knowledge of Oracle and PL/SQL; advanced knowledge is an advantage
• Ability to write complex SQL statements and scripts to fetch, modify, and deploy data
• Basic knowledge of any high-level programming language with experience using debuggers
• In-depth scripting knowledge
• Knowledge of power applications

• Independently handle Network Control projects focusing on customer data related to network models and process communication
• Implement customer requirements within technical solution concepts
• Collect, analyze, map, clean, maintain, and deploy customer data into Hitachi Energy’s software products
• Configure and develop customer databases
• Build displays in the Hitachi Energy Graphical User Interface
• Conduct system testing at factory and site, documenting results related to database and graphics
• Support customers by verifying and resolving technical issues with installed systems
• Support sales department in finding solutions and preparing offers
