Software Engineer (Perl, Python, Shell) (m/f/n)

The role supports a client, one of the EU organizations, in developing, maintaining, and evolving software solutions and automation tools for large network and security infrastructures. The team has approximately 80 professionals working on long-term infrastructure and software services in a complex public-sector environment.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in software development
• Strong experience with Perl, Python, Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, Oracle, JavaScript (jQuery), SQL databases
• Ability to understand complex technical environments and provide recommendations
• Strong customer and quality focus
• EU citizenship is mandatory
• Fluency in English and French (written and spoken)

Nice to have:

• Experience with web front-end tools (JavaScript skills, preferably with React experience)
• Knowledge of microservice architecture (Node.js, ServiceFabric, or similar)
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB or similar)
• DevOps experience (CI, build automation, continuous deployment)
• Code quality practices (TDD, unit testing, coding for testability)
• Knowledge of network and security technologies
• Experience with Juniper SD WAN

• Analyse customer requirements
• Develop and maintain existing software by analysing and identifying areas for modification
• Propose and present ideas for system improvements
• Participate in software architecture design with the architecture team
• Create technical specifications, write program code, and produce documentation
• Test software in controlled environments before production deployment
• Prepare training documentation for users
• Maintain systems once they are live
• Continuous integration, documentation, and deployment using Git, Jenkins, SonarQube, Unit-test/Selenium/nightwatch, and Ansible
