Senior Software Engineer, Chrome Identity

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The products handle information at massive scale and extend beyond web search. The role involves versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm to tackle new problems across the full stack. As a senior software engineer on Chrome Identity, you will technically lead a small team in Warsaw working on Chrome Identity on mobile platforms, primarily Android, with exposure to desktop. You will build features used by billions of users and highly visible in Chrome UIs (e.g., account menu, first run experience, Chrome profile picker). Chrome Identity offers collaboration opportunities across Chrome and Google, a challenging problem space, and impactful projects critical to Chrome's long-term success. Chrome is dedicated to building a better, more open web, focusing on making a better browser on desktop and mobile to help users safely and securely take advantage of the web. Chrome is available across all major platforms and is an open source project benefiting the web ecosystem with innovations in speed, simplicity, and security.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience developing for mobile operating systems (Android).
• Experience with Large Language Models, NLP, or Generative AI.

Nice to have:

• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with mobile or desktop development.
• Experience with software engineering development, including leading a small team for more than a year.
• Ability to iterate approach for complex features to a large number of users.

• Set technical directions for a small team of engineers.
• Take full ownership of the design, implementation, and launch phases of projects.
• Work with UX/Product Manager peers to refine product requirements.
• Make direct coding contributions critical to project success and coordinate design and development work with adjacent teams.
• Utilize AI tools to expedite software development practices.
