Cloud Technical Solutions Engineer, Networking

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in reading or debugging code with one of the following: Java, C, C++, software framework, Python, Shell, Perl, or JavaScript.

Nice to have:

• Experience implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices.
• Experience with packet capture/analysis, artificial packet creation, load testing, and traffic path analysis to troubleshoot network performance issues.
• Experience with cloud solutions such as SQL database administration, Google App Engine, open source software communities, cloud networking solutions, or distributed computing technology.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Routing, VPNs, VLANs, Peering, Load Balancing).
• Knowledge of system/network administrator level of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Knowledge of basic web technologies (HTTP, HTML, DNS, TCP).

• Manage customer problems through diagnosis, resolution, or implementing new investigation tools to increase productivity for Google Cloud Platform products.
• Develop knowledge of Google's product technology and architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, determining root causes of customer issues, and building tools for faster diagnosis.
• Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, and customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
• Understand customer issues and advocate for their needs with cross-functional teams including product and engineering to improve the product and drive high-quality production.
• Work as part of a global team of Engineers/Consultants ensuring 24-hour customer support, including working non-standard hours or shifts as needed.
