Staff Software Engineer, Pixel Data Engineering

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies impacting billions of users. The Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering advanced mobile experiences by integrating AI, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and transformative user experiences.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.
• 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred).
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms (preferred).
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction (preferred).
• 3 years of experience working in a matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects (preferred).
• Experience with Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript (preferred).

• Partner with engineers, designers, and product managers to infuse data-motivated insights into every stage of Pixel product development.
• Advocate data-motivated strategies, contributing expertise to key product decisions that shape future devices.
• Design and develop systems for collecting and analyzing data from Pixel device sources.
• Create tools and reports that provide clarity and insight for launch and executive reviews.
• Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and data warehouses that serve as the foundation of investigative capabilities.
