Engineering Manager, Gemini Code Assist

Google is a company working on a wide range of software engineering projects including information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, data compression, and user interface design. This role involves leading a team developing Metrics and Observability for GenAI based development tools, working with Google Cloud AI and Google Research to develop AI solutions.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing projects.
• 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with people management in a technical environment.
• Experience in autoscaling services.

• Mentor a team of engineers through the full software development life-cycle, fostering collaboration, and prioritizing their professional growth and career advancement.
• Drive team planning processes to align with stakeholder expectations, manage priorities, deadlines and deliverables and collaborate across teams to deliver joint projects efficiently.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team while leveraging expertise to enable informed decision-making.
• Build relationships with internal customers to understand requirements, address concerns, anticipate future needs and deliver solutions that meet expectations.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand business priorities and develop strategies to support organizational goals.
