Senior Backend Engineer (Incogni)

Join the Incogni engineering team and help build the next-generation backend system that powers the products Incogni and Ironwall at scale. The mission is to build a scalable, secure, and reliable service platform that supports rapid business growth and evolving product needs. Work involves core application systems and service architectures at the heart of the platform.

• Strong experience as a backend or software engineer building production systems
• Solid understanding of software design principles, service-oriented architecture, and API design
• Experience building application backends, internal platforms, or service ecosystems
• Confidence working with different programming languages and stacks, and picking the right tool for the problem
• Experience working with databases, messaging systems, and distributed components
• Comfort participating in code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making

Bonus points if you:

• Have experience building or scaling platforms that serve millions of requests
• Worked with multiple backend languages or ecosystems (e.g., PHP, Go, Node.js, or others)
• Designed systems with reliability, observability, and operational concerns in mind

• Design, build, and evolve high-traffic, business-critical backend services with a focus on scalability and reliability
• Lead and influence architectural decisions including domain modeling, service boundaries, infrastructure, and deployment strategies
• Drive the evolution of the next-generation service platform together with senior and lead engineers
• Identify system bottlenecks and propose architectural improvements to support long-term growth
• Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end, from design to production
• Write clean, well-tested code while raising engineering standards across the team
