The Google Cloud Performance, Reliability, and Observability team develop unified debugging, profiling, and analytics tools for customers, ranging from dashboards to debug individual request handling traces, to in-depth cross-component analysis of system behaviour. They explore options of using machine learning to automate anomaly detection in Google Cloud control plane systems.

• PhD degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience with software development with the use of SQL and advanced algorithms.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with one or more of the following: data analysis, big data, f1-sql, log analysis, machine learning.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Contribute to further development of automations and tooling.
• Collaborate on performance and reliability issues involving massive amounts of data and information.
• Work with customers (e.g., Google Compute Engine and other Google Cloud teams) to understand requirements, debug problems, and anticipate needs.
