AI-First Backend Software Engineer

Vercom creates global cloud communication platforms (CPaaS) that enable companies to build and develop lasting relationships with recipients through multiple communication channels. Their solutions help clients overcome communication complexity, automate it, and increase its scale while maintaining high deliverability and efficiency in a fast, secure, and reliable way.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C#)
• Experience in building and maintaining backend systems (API, integrations, business logic)
• Understanding of building scalable and maintainable systems (architecture, modularity, performance)
• Working with AI as an integral part of the development process (code generation, refactoring, analysis, automation)
• Practical use of LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) including prompting, function calling/structured outputs, and building simple workflows
• Ability to integrate AI solutions with backend and external APIs
• Product-oriented thinking to translate business problems into technical solutions
• Enjoys autonomy, experimentation, and seeking better ways of working

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of CI/CD and deployment processes
• Familiarity with agent-based approaches (LLM workflows, MCP, A2A, ACP, agent orchestration)
• Interest in optimizing team work through AI

• Designing and developing backend systems and APIs
• Creating and developing functionalities in products
• Using AI for code generation and refactoring, accelerating development, and automating backend processes
• Building integrations with external systems and internal tools
• Creating AI-based solutions such as workflows, automations, and integrations
• Experimenting with new AI tools and implementing them in practice
