Python/ ML Engineer (Regular/Senior)

VirtusLab is part of the expanding VirtusLab Group, offering a forward-thinking environment in the software industry. The project focuses on loss prevention in retail by bridging experimental ML models and production-grade systems for a major UK retailer.

• Strong experience in writing high-quality Python code and deploying production-level projects.
• Significant experience in Data Engineering, specifically with PySpark, data quality monitoring, and workflow orchestration.
• Proficiency in Azure or equivalent cloud providers.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Practical experience automating CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
• Robust DevOps mindset.
• Good command of English (B2/C1 level).
• Proactiveness and strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes, Airflow, Terraform, MLOps, Grafana, Prometheus.

• Build and own data pipelines on a Spark Kubernetes cluster orchestrated with Airflow using PySpark.
• Improve and introduce data validation and monitoring to ensure trustworthy data at every stage.
• Provision and manage Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code.
• Automate CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and maintain workflows.
• Enhance monitoring for reliability and stability of deployed ML solutions using Grafana/Prometheus.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and serving of ML models.
• Actively shape the project’s technical roadmap and direction.

Candidates must be available for on-site collaboration approximately once a month. Hybrid model preferred with 2-3 days per week in Kraków office.
