Senior Software Engineer (Live Debugger for the JVM)

The Live Debugger project within the JetBrains Innovation Hub focuses on safe, AI-first debugging of production systems, combining JVM tooling, program analysis, and AI.

• Extensive experience with Java, Kotlin, and JVM systems.
• Experience with enterprise backend software, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Comfortable with Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Ability to take ownership, communicate clearly, and move things forward without waiting for perfect specs.
• Enjoy using AI in development while validating results with solid engineering discipline.

Nice to have:

• Experience with debugging, instrumentation, or observability-related tools.
• Experience with .NET or Python backend products.
• Care deeply about developer productivity and engineering quality.

• Design, build, and lead the development of product features.
• Develop tooling and automation for AI-first engineering workflows.
• Work on enterprise integrations and deployment scenarios across Kubernetes and cloud environments.
• Improve reliability, testing, performance, and security for production use.
