Full-Stack Developer (React + Java), Officer

Charles River Development (CRD) is the FinTech division of State Street. Together with State Street’s Middle and Back-office services, Charles River’s cloud-based Front Office technology forms the foundation of the State Street Alpha® Platform, the first front-to-back solution in the industry.

CRD Engineering organization is innovating and transforming the platform by moving away from monolithic software to utilizing next generation cloud-based technology that leverages Microsoft Azure, Kafka, Snowflake, etc.

CRD is currently expanding the capabilities of our products in several new areas.

• B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or other technical course of study required; MS degree strongly preferred
• 2-5 years of experience working with React and Java
• Experience with React Hooks and component-based architecture
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, DOM, Modern CSS3
• Experience with prominent React/JavaScript libraries including Redux and RxJS
• Experience with object-oriented programming (Java and/or C#)
• Experience with relational (RDBMS) and non-relational databases
• Experience integrating REST and WebSocket APIs
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Azure, Microservices, Micro-Frontend architecture is a plus
• Experience working in financial services is a plus

• Design, develop and maintain enterprise-grade applications using React.js
• Implement reusable, responsive, high-performance UI components employing frontend architecture patterns
• Implement software programs and applications using Java
• Integrate React applications with Java based backend services
• Work closely with UX, backend, QA and DevOps teams in a structured enterprise environment
• Participate in backend development tasks such as API integration, minor enhancements and bug fixes
• Ensure application performance, security and scalability standards are met
• Engage in the agile software development process and participate in code reviews, sprint planning and release activities
• Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality end product
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely fixes
• Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River
