Senior Software Engineer, Health and Home Infrastructure

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The Health and Home (H&H) team, part of Google's Platforms and Devices Product Area, focuses on improving lives through health and home domains, integrating AI and hardware/software for user well-being. The Health Platforms and Devices team builds products combining Google technologies, AI, health behavior science, and user-centered design to help users manage health and wellness data and take action toward health goals.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in Java or C++.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, and launching infrastructure, and with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience with developing large-scale distributed infrastructure, or experience with storage or distributed data processing.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

• Develop and maintain high-QPS distributed systems with reliability and low-latency performance.
• Lead technical trade-off analyses to evaluate competing technologies, prioritizing scalability, robustness, and operational efficiency.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Deliver projects for Home Infrastructure and ensure engineering quality in the team.
• Collaborate with other Home Infrastructure teams in different locations to deliver projects.
• Mentor junior team members in ramping up in the space.
