Senior Software Engineer - Mobile App and AirHelp+

At AirHelp, we help millions of airline passengers worldwide receive the compensation they deserve. Since 2013, we've assisted over 3 million passengers and protected over 12 million travelers through our AirHelp+ membership program. The company has a global team of over 400 employees speaking 19 languages and advocates for fair air passenger rights through APRA.

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer (full stack or backend focus).
• Proficiency in modern backend stacks including Ruby on Rails, Golang, Python, or Node.js.
• Strong experience in backend infrastructure, API contracts, background job processing, and messaging systems.
• Comfortable with frontend technologies React and TypeScript to deliver end-to-end features.
• Ability to apply modern design patterns and architectural intuition.
• Hands-on, iterative startup mindset focused on rapid user impact.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.
• High ownership and responsibility for system lifecycle.

• Build new services and enrich existing ones to enhance core product offerings.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code that performs reliably within cloud infrastructure.
• Design robust solutions architecture and proactively propose technical improvements.
• Promote best engineering practices and maintain high coding standards within the team.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from ideation to production deployment.
• Provide constructive feedback through code reviews and support the technical growth of peers.
• Contribute technical insights to the product roadmap.

First year deliverables:

• Launch the Fast Track voucher system for AirHelp+ members.
• Implement add-on features for per-trip coverage for companions.
• Scale flight automation ecosystem with multi-inbox synchronization and delay statistics.
• Overhaul mobile onboarding and notification systems.
• Deploy persistent Live Updates and Live Activity refreshes for real-time flight status.
