Senior DevOps Engineer (SOC)

Sopra Steria is one of the largest tech industry players in Europe, specializing in consulting, digital services, and software development. The Polish branch operates as a Global Delivery Center in Katowice since 2007 with around 1,000 specialists. The Digital Platform Services department focuses on cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup, storage, networking, and security. The Application Services department handles software development, data engineering, testing, CRM, ITSM, ERP integrations, and application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as DevOps or similar role.
• Software engineering experience with Python, FastAPI, SQLModel, Celery, Alembic.
• Strong experience with GitLab and GitLab-CI pipeline automation.
• Solid hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps workflows.
• Team player and problem solver comfortable with stakeholder interaction.
• EU citizenship.
• Fluent English (B2/C1).
• Willingness for occasional business trips abroad and visits to Katowice office.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Cyber Security.

• Maintain, evolve, and scale tools protecting a leading aerospace pioneer.
• Manage and enhance core SOC infrastructure including GitLab pipelines, Splunk, and custom toolkit backends.
• Design and implement new features to address emerging cyber threats.
• Act as a technical partner for external teams to translate operational needs into automated solutions.
• Maintain and optimize the existing FastAPI and Python-based toolkit framework.
• Build and refine GitLab-CI pipelines for secure deployments.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies.
• Identify bottlenecks in the current framework and propose architectural upgrades.
• Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability.
