Google Cloud Technical & Team Lead - Centre of Excellence

The role is within the Google Cloud Centre of Excellence, focusing on defining standards, designing scalable Google Cloud solutions, and leading technical teams.

• Strong hands-on experience with key Google Cloud services (GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub).
• Solid understanding of IAM, networking (VPC, load balancing, firewalling), and cloud security best practices.
• Proven experience designing cloud architectures and applying cloud-native patterns (microservices, event-driven, serverless).
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD automation and modern DevOps practices.
• Practical experience building or working with Landing Zone and platform governance.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and guide teams through decisions.
• Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) are a strong plus.
• Strong leadership skills and experience mentoring technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, security, operations, and business teams.

• Define and maintain technology standards, architectural guidelines, and best practices for Google Cloud across the organization.
• Oversee projects from a technical perspective, lead architecture reviews, and support teams in critical technical decision making.
• Develop and enhance the cloud platform, including Landing Zone, automation frameworks, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges, providing expert guidance during escalations.
• Mentor architects, platform engineers, and DevOps teams, supporting their technical growth and cloud maturity.
• Collaborate closely with Security, IT Operations, Data/AI teams, FinOps, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Co-create and drive the cloud technology strategy and platform roadmap within the Cloud Centre of Excellence.
