Senior Software Developer (IntelliJ AI)

JetBrains develops developer tools and IDEs, focusing on automating routine checks and corrections to enhance developer productivity. The IntelliJ AI team builds AI-specific core features for JetBrains IDEs, including agentic workflows and AI-powered capabilities.

• Strong knowledge of Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Comfortable designing and developing complex software systems.
• Self-driven with ability to take end-to-end ownership of challenging features.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Experience that would be especially valuable:

• Building AI-powered features, especially with LLM-based systems.
• Developing IDEs, code editors, or complex desktop applications.
• Working on performance-sensitive or correctness-critical systems.
• Concurrent programming and performance optimization.

• Integrate state-of-the-art AI agents into JetBrains IDEs to improve developer experience.
• Enhance AI agent capabilities with intelligent tools available in the IDEs.
• Create novel AI features without direct market analogues, experimenting with modern AI technologies.
• Measure and evaluate performance of AI agents and features to ensure reliability and reproducibility.
