System Administrator / Devops (GCP) - freelancer

People More is a technology company working on projects for a large client base domestically and internationally. They build projects from scratch or partially, including UX, UI, frontend, backend, and mobile, working directly with clients and partners worldwide.

• Strong Windows administration skills including services, policies, firewalling, networking, and troubleshooting.
• Deep hands-on experience with WSL2 and Docker Desktop on Windows (bridged networking, DNS, volumes, performance tuning).
• Scripting skills; Python is a plus.
• Experience with provisioning and bootstrap on Windows (e.g., Chocolatey/Scoop, sysprep, unattended installs).
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD basics (Git; any of Terraform, Packer, Cloud-Build, GitHub Actions).
• Fundamentals of GCP including Compute Engine Windows images/LIC, VPC, Artifact/Container Registry, with cost awareness.
• Ownership mindset to identify risks, propose options, and drive decisions proactively.
• Very good English and Polish language skills.

• Map the current setup (Windows virtual robot controller + WSL2 + Docker Desktop + simulation dependencies) and identify pain points.
• Propose and validate architecture options including laptop provisioning, Windows-only cloud components, or fully cloud-based dev workspace.
• Build the bootstrap process end-to-end (images, scripts, IaC) for repeatable, self-service onboarding.
• Ensure Windows, WSL2, and Docker integration (networking, file-system performance, GPU/USB pass-through, firewall rules).
• Automate provisioning for laptops and cloud VMs (golden images, artifact registries, secrets management).
• Document the setup process and alternatives to enable partners and contractors to be productive from day one.
• Continuously measure and improve setup time, failure rates, cost, and developer experience.
