We are currently looking for an experienced System Administrator to join our team. This role involves system administration across classified and unclassified networks, focusing on Windows Server and virtualization technologies.
Wymagania
Mandatory:
- Higher technical vocational training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant recent experience.
- At least 3 years of detailed experience with MS Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- In-depth experience with WSUS and SCCM.
- Detailed experience with CA and NPS.
- Strong experience with virtualization and VDI environments.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, email clients, web browsers, and content management tools.
- Ability to work efficiently in dynamic environments.
- Service‑oriented attitude with strong user interaction skills.
- Ability to develop scripts to automate system administration processes.
- Ability to ensure physical and electronic system security.
- Security Clearance Level: NATO SECRET
Desirable:
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
- VMware or Microsoft Windows Server certifications (e.g., MCSA).
- Experience with hybrid Linux/Active Directory environments.
- Broad experience with ITIL.
- Project management background.
- Experience with configuration control and collaboration tools.
- International experience in mixed civilian/military environments.
- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Certifications such as Security+, Network+, or similar vendor‑neutral options.
Obowiązki
- Execute standard operational procedures including configuration, installation, and maintenance of infrastructure.
- Use management tools to collect performance statistics and automate provisioning, testing, and deployment.
- Perform system and data backups and restorations.
- Identify operational issues and contribute to their resolution.
- Review and evaluate system software updates for implementation.
- Tailor and optimize system software for maximum hardware performance.
- Install and test new versions of system software.
- Prepare and maintain operational documentation.
- Manage daily administration of MS Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and trust relationships.
- Develop scripts to automate system administration tasks.
- Support release management processes including rollout and rollback operations.
- Contribute to technical and service-oriented documentation.
- Work closely with the Service Desk and support 1st line technicians.
- Monitor systems proactively and generate availability and performance reports.
- Advise management on corrective or procurement actions.
- Stay current with IT technologies to support a scientific workforce.
- Perform duties both at the Centre and on deployed platforms (e.g., research vessels).
- Perform other related duties as required.
