Elsewhere Entertainment is developing a new IP and seeks a Senior (or above) Character Artist - Creatures to join their Art department in Warsaw, Poland. The role involves defining and shaping the game's iconic creatures and contributing to groundbreaking video game projects.
Wymagania
- Strong portfolio showcasing proficiency in creature art for video games with diverse and compelling creatures.
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D modeling and texturing software such as Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer.
- Deep understanding of character and creature rigging principles, animation integration, and industry best practices.
- Ability to anticipate and solve downstream production challenges.
Bonus points for:
- Hands-on knowledge of multiple modern real-time asset creation pipelines and tools.
- Familiarity with blendshape-driven morph systems and transformation workflows for gameplay.
- Experience working with rendering/graphics teams to refine materials and troubleshoot character presentations in real-time.
- Skills and experience in related fields like illustration, concept art, sculpting, animation.
- Excellent artistic and design skills including composition, color theory, and visual storytelling focused on characters and creatures.
- Experience in muscle/fat simulation workflows.
- Experience with hair and cloth simulation.
Obowiązki
- Act as a key creative partner across Art, Design, and Development to align character and creature design with gameplay and narrative goals.
- Collaborate closely with Concept Art throughout the visual development process.
- Create high resolution 3D sculpts and final low polygon and textured game assets for characters and creatures.
- Combine traditional hand-crafted art techniques with physically based rendering (PBR) materials to create a unique visual style.
- Partner with artists, designers, and tech artists to solve complex character pipeline problems and bring assets to life.
- Collaborate closely with animation and rigging teams to ensure proper planning and execution of character designs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of light, shading, color, and detail when creating texture maps and ensure high-quality presentation.
- Assist in leading testing and feedback processes to identify and address character-related issues, bugs, and improvements.
Inne informacje
This role is based in the Warsaw, Poland office and follows an onsite work schedule of four days per week. Work arrangements may change at the company's discretion to meet business needs.
