Senior QA Automation Engineer

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in software testing within a process-driven technology environment
• Strong programming expertise in at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python
• Hands-on experience in front-end testing using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or similar frameworks
• Experience in back-end/API testing, including REST APIs, HTTP, and SOAP services
• Solid understanding of databases with practical SQL experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

Nice to have:

• Proven ability to translate business requirements into comprehensive functional and technical test plans
• Experience designing and implementing automation tests for web and desktop applications
• Hands-on experience developing and executing automation test scripts across web, desktop/native applications, APIs, and batch processes
• Experience creating and maintaining test cases, scripts, and automated testing tools for multi-tier applications
• Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or similar
• Experience maintaining manual and automated test libraries covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing
• Familiarity with shell scripting languages such as PowerShell or Bash
• B.S. degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Business with MIS background; MS degree strongly preferred

• Design and develop scalable automated test frameworks and regression suites
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality feature delivery
• Expand automation coverage across functional, integration, and system testing
• Support CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
• Identify quality risks early and drive continuous improvement in testing processes
• Contribute to shared automation libraries and testing infrastructure
• Advocate for quality engineering best practices across the development lifecycle

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office. Travel may be required on a limited basis. Salary will be determined based on various objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees. The minimum salary quoted applies to the primary location; if working outside this location, the applicable minimum salary may differ. Employees are eligible for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
