Java Developer (Workflow Specialist)

CSHARK Sp. z o.o. offers a role focused on workflow automation and business rules engines within a migration programme, providing genuine ownership and long-term engagement with high visibility.

• 5+ years of experience in workflow automation, business rules engines, or process automation.
• Solid Java and JVM language skills (Java 21 ecosystem preferred).
• Ability to read, debug, and extend existing code.
• Ability to read and interpret Smalltalk code or rule definitions at a functional level.
• Rapid domain understanding and strong analytical skills.
• Experience working with domain experts and subject matter experts.
• Fluent English (written and spoken).
• Active use of AI-assisted tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot).

Nice to have:

• Direct experience with Cincom ObjectStudio or any Smalltalk-based system.
• Background in debt management, collections, accounts receivable, or financial services.
• Experience building code parsers, AST processors, or rule translators.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted automation.
• Experience in migration contexts translating legacy automation to modern platforms.
• German language skills (B2+).

• Design, build, and operate a workflow automation toolkit from scratch with direct input into architecture decisions.
• Analyze and translate complex rule-based logic.
• Design and implement workflow engines, BPM platforms, or rule engines including multi-step sequences, conditional branching, event-driven triggers, and external system integration.
• Reverse-engineer business logic from Smalltalk code or rule definitions.
• Work with domain experts and subject matter experts to validate technical implementations against business requirements, especially in regulated or legally sensitive contexts.
• Produce clear technical documentation and communicate complex workflow semantics to engineers and business stakeholders.
