Lead Backend Engineer Java & Test Automation

Mindbox is a tech-driven company connecting top IT talents with technology projects for leading enterprises across Europe. The role is within the Global Disbursements Platform team, which enables seamless global payments including supplier payments, salary credits, tax payments, and money transfers through multiple channels.

• 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years in a technical leadership or lead developer role.
• Strong proficiency in Java 8+ (Java 17+ preferable).
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Advanced, hands-on experience in software testing, including designing and implementing test automation frameworks.
• Knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot.
• Working understanding of RESTful microservices and APIs.
• Experience with database technologies and SQL (Oracle preferred).

Nice to have:

• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Experience working in a QA team.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers.
• Lead the design and development of backend services and microservices using Java 8/11/17.
• Drive the team’s strategy for automated testing, promoting best practices and overseeing the implementation of automation frameworks.
• Architect solutions to reduce cost and complexity by migrating to modern integration patterns like APIs, Kafka, or microservices.
• Oversee the enhancement of Straight-Through-Processing (STP) capabilities of services.
