DevOps Engineer

Founded in 2019, Uncapped is a fintech company focused on providing working capital to SMEs in North America and Europe. They leverage multiple data sources to make credit decisions faster, safer, and more conveniently, working with large platforms including Amazon and Walmart.

• Hands-on experience with GCP and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Proficiency with infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD principles.
• Experience building or maintaining observability solutions.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI, Flux CD, Istio, or similar tools.
• Ability to write automation that empowers others while maintaining guardrails.

• Own and optimize GCP infrastructure stack ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Modernize Kubernetes environments and implement infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Establish best practices to enable faster engineering delivery with confidence.
• Partner with development teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and processes.
• Guide engineers in selecting appropriate tools and patterns.
• Empower teams to self-serve infrastructure capabilities while maintaining security and reliability.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to manage identity and access management across infrastructure and third-party tools.
• Secure critical infrastructure components including DNS, secrets management, and audit logging.
• Establish compliance controls required for regulated financial services.
• Build company-wide observability using the LGTM stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir).
• Implement SRE principles, monitoring, and alerting for system health visibility.
• Drive initiatives like green/blue deployments and chaos engineering to improve resilience.
• Monitor system performance and costs, identify optimization opportunities.
• Respond to incidents, conduct post-mortems, and implement preventive measures.
